Questa è la famiglia Barmasse di Valtournenche; montanari, alpinisti, esploratori e guide alpine del Cervino. Ed è proprio sulla “Gran Becca” – così viene chiamato il Cervino dai Valdostani – che il 17 Marzo 2010, a distanza di una generazione, padre e figlio si legano assieme per cercare di salire quel Couloir che, dall’Enjambée, precipita per 1200 m verso la base della parete Sud del Cervino. Un vecchio progetto tentato 24 anni prima dal padre Marco ed oggi ripreso dal figlio Hervé. Una via difficile, definita dai più forti alpinisti degli anni 80 come “uno degli ultimi grandi progetti logici delle alpi”, e ancora irrisolta nel 2010.
